Dancing...Cheering...and Selling Food

As part of today's exposition and display of culinary arts...the 5th and 6th grade girls from our school, including a few familiar faces to our family, did some dancing and cheering for the crowds gathered.  The dance was choreographed by Magpie, our 10 year old...the cheers by the various girls.  Sprinkled through this post are various shots of their performances.  (They did 3 today.)

This shot of the neighborhood/massive apartment complex, gives you an idea of the number of people who came out to enjoy the event.

Above:  Practicing my Chinese for "tuna fish sandwich," "ham and cucumber sandwich," "oatmeal raisin cookie" and "iced red tea."

Today we sold all but about 20 sandwiches (of the 200)...and made a profit double of ours last year...

Below:  Some of our neighbors...he is a transplant surgeon (not the neighbor I ever want to see at his place of work)...and she works for the company that funds the school...and their lovely daughter who we've known since the day she was born.

Above:  Magpie busy peddling the popcorn that Daddy whipped up this morning.  After 1.5 of popping in his massive kettle over the gas fire...he came away a bit worse for the wear...burning big patches of the underside of BOTH his forearms by laying them against the side of his blazing kettle on different occasions.  (No pictures of the burns as yet though.)

Below: A view of our wares...AND a very handsome Bub stops by the booth with his Kindergarten Classmates.

Above:  Bub holding hands with his favorite Kindergarten girl...Mandy.

Below:  Some event attendees.

Below:  This is our new (and old) Principal of the school.  She was the Principal our first year...and now again in our third...we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to work with her...she is so genuine and warm...and can you also see that she is a kick to be around?

Below:  Daddy poses with one of our colleagues, and three of his daughters by our menu board at the booth.

Above:  This is Cherry and the man he owns.  This dog is only a puppy, we really like Cherry...though the man he owns sadly named him a girl's name when he is a boy dog...Cherry is getting bigger...and we're wondering if he will still fit in the man's apartment much longer?

Below:  Look closely at the offering one vendor brought today...

Yes, you see cigarettes, certainly NOT uncommon Here...but look a bit closer...

The Brand Name?  "LONG LIFE "

Also, check out the warning label carefully worded in English so that none of the non-English speaking smokers will have any idea that, contrary to their name, Long Life Cigarettes are guaranteed NOT to  prolong your life.
And to round out the photos of the day...our cheer squad...

Below:  This shot of the girls is so funny...jumping up in front in one of the Wu girls...the other jumper in the back right is the other Wu girl...the two squatters are ours...The Bug in the back left and Magpie in the front...a serious action shot.
