What a Care Package!

Before posting any further pictures I have to post a shout-out to our beloved family back at GNF!
To tell you that we were blown away when we opened Butterfly's suitcase (that arrived 3 days after she did) would be the understatement of the year...
We enjoyed first going through item by item the comforts of home that you lovingly sent...

...favorite home baked cookies...

...familiar cookie cutters...

...flavors of home in chocolate, taco and chili seasoning, cake mix and other comfort foods...

...fantastic raspberry jam and dried apple slices...

But the greatest blessing of all...

The letters and cards!
We spent nearly 1 hour sitting by our Christmas Tree, each one of us taking turns reading your words out loud as the floor was washed with our tears. Actually, I believe it was our first family-wide cry fest since arriving at The New Place.
Each of your words, well wishes and your handwriting was savored by us as we heard your voices in our heads and collectively remembered how much we love and miss all of you. The blessing of that hour will be held close in our hearts for all time.
Thank you for caring...thank you for reaching out to us and sending us your love...my how we felt it.
The journey we have walked with you for the last 10 years has brought us to this place. If not for your teaching, correction, challenge, love, concern and service to us we would never have come to the place where we would have felt confident enough to follow Him here. You have each encouraged us to follow and trust and we are stronger because of it.
Looking forward to a time when we will never be apart...

Ah...but you forget about the cry fest of the engineer and the tenderheart leaving. Maybe that was just me crying. We miss you and can't wait to come see you again! -The engineer.
