Butterfly - visits The New Place

She loves it here... she always has...

From her first visit here in 2006 she just radiates with joy out on the streets of our city. She says, "I just love it here, I love the people!"

So, in her brief 4 day visit we gave her lots of time on the streets, shopping and living life like a typical resident here going to the local markets, not any place the tourists frequent. These shots show a shopping area about 1 hour from our home, still well within our city limits. The experience can blow your mind...all those people...each one precious and our minds cannot process the faces of 1/16 of them out on our shopping day. It causes us to recognize again the awesome expanse of His knowledge...too incredible to comprehend...

Above: Just 10 years ago these pictures would be full of bicycles...now all motor scooters...

Above: On this day we went past twenty shops, one after the other, selling dried foods, most prepared in the traditional way they have been for thousands of years here.

Above: Happy Shoppers

Above: if you want to shop, want to find the best bargains, you're going to touch a lot of people. To negotiate through the market you just have to press ahead, often brushing through dozens of people...but the prices...wow, they are good!

Above: Think this group is a spectacle on the street?

Above: During our Christmas celebration with Butterfly she revealed the gifts she brought, all lovingly made by hand. She made each of the siblings their own hats to fight the cold and fashioned those adorable personal handbags each with adornments that represent the individuality of that sibling...how amazing...

As we celebrated our Christmas together and shopped until we dropped we often commented that for twelve years now we've been a family and we have so many amazing experiences, memories that never fail to entertain and amuse us.

To see such a beautiful and talented young woman has emerged from the child she once was ... she's always a joy to be around, she showers her siblings with unconditional love and she embraces life with such enthusiasm...how blessed we are...

Happy New Year Butterfly...spread your wings and soar...

My Butterfly! How talented she is. I'll see her tomorrow night at our house. Thanks for putting all the photos on the blog. I live with you through them.
