Car Wreck

Well...it had to happen...

We've been here nearly six months and anytime you're out on the roads you take your life in your hands. Today, we had the unpleasant experience of being rear-ended by a car traveling a quite a bit of speed.

No one in our party was hurt badly. Magpie, Daddy, and I all have quite sore necks and back/shoulders. But, we all walked away from what could have been a pretty serious accident. The car that hit us had major damage and was not drivable.

Once again we are vividly aware of the miraculous covering that your prayers give us as we go day to day in this sometimes hazardous place. We traveled on to our meeting today and enjoyed singing with brothers and sisters from around the world. We chose to leave early though, beginning to feel more and more aware of some discomfort and needed some tylenol to help with a headache or two.

Mainly, it was scary. Such things always are and some of our more sensitive H Family members shed quite a few tears. But as we sat in the vehicle and took stock of everyones' necks (there were no headrests)...we remembered to first give thanks to God for his protection and mercy that shielded us.

We returned to the homefront to enjoy our traditional Sunday night consumption of popcorn, cheese and apples. Now, all the junior members are settling down in their beds. Tomorrow a crucial day for The Bug and Magpie as they sit for their first formal exams...Math, Chinese and English. Magpie's flourishing use of conversational local dialect helped us in our moment of need today. The driver didn't speak English and he was very, very concerned over potential injuries we may have sustained. Magpie reassured him in her new language and sorted our alternate transportation arrangements through her tears.

Thank you...thank you...thank you...your prayers make a difference. We experienced true protection today as a result of your intercession...please, continue.

We are grateful, beyond words.

I hope you are all okay. I will be sending thoughts for you to all be okay. Last year when I got rear-ended, I was sore for a couple of days - but after that I was fine. I wish this or even better for each and every one of you.
Love to all!

Ugh!
I am sorry to hear that but glad that you felt (feel) the prayers of all who love you!
May your trips be safe from here on out!

De ju vu, right Dad? It was many years ago when you were very young that a car hit us (not a rear ending) and caused us a bit of a delay in our trip home from Grandma & Grandpa's.

I relate to the trauma both mental and physical. Consider this a big cyber hug to all. I will be extra eager to know that you are all doing well concerning whip lash pain, headachs, back ailments, etc. as the days go by.

I will be thinking of you all.
Love, Grandma Deanie

I am just catching up late... we are always keeping you in our thoughts, now we know why! Our own littlest girl took a tumble and put her bottom teeth all the way through her lip. Fortunately no stitches were required. Unfortunately in my haste to get to my hubby with the crying infant I knocked our little guys head into the door frame. All at bedtime of course! We are all doing well now.
Our little peanut has brownie and potatoes picture up in her newly painted room and thinks of them often! I was thinking of you as I made a Bob the Builder birthday cake and used the great frosting color tints that you gave me! Thanks, eveyone loved the cake.
Love you!
