We've got Work Permits!

Some sort of magical process has happened...

We've been totally unaware after we had our medical exams...(if you missed that post...it's a must read)

It appears that we passed our medical exams as today we were presented with "Alien Work Permits."

Proof that we're not from around here...

We've spent the morning filling out documents...practicing our local names...chuckling over our clumsy attempts and diciphering the forms...

But it appears that after perhaps a police interview...we'll then be awarded the prized "Residence Permits!"

The Work Permit has authorized us to work her for one year. The Residence Permit will allow us to live here...key to our success. :)

Just a note about one of the young...

Bub has gotten into this unbelievably loud and boisterous talking of late. This morning he was taking issue with everyone, at the top of his lungs. His first thing was "No I NOT!"...he's been saying this for weeks. He's contentious about absolutely everything..."Are you a good boy Bub?" "No I NOT!"

Now he's added in the counter if we say "No you can't", he exictedly reports "Yes I am!" No matter the topic, no matter how beneficial to him...still he takes the opposite position.

Dad said this morning..."this guy's going to make a great attorney!"

Then, to frustrate his sisters all the more...he's into mimicking what they say. Each time with wild tonal variations making whatever they've said sound entirely comical.

Life with a two and a half year old...in another culture...in the 98 degree heat...where everyone stares at us no matter what we're doing...but even more when a mouthy kid is being corrected by his parents...

...lucky for him he's cute...

Our first day of school is September 1...no Labor Day for us. Many details to begin working out as we start to lesson plan and "design" the new school. Think of this with these new challenges. It's a big job...but with the heat...it seems overwhelming.

Also...patience seems to be in short supply for this Momma. Dad seems to be totally in his element,though...and the kids are starting to really miss their friends back home and Grandparents are always a topic of discussion. Once school starts, their minds will be occupied, I hope, with much in The New Place here...but until September 1...homesickness is bound to keep creeping up! Please remember us working through those hurdles here.

Here's hoping you'll get the "Residence Permits." It would certainly be a long commute to the workplace if you were not allowed to live there.

I'm extra eager to see photos of all of you. The "Alien Work Permit" creates visions of altered appearances.

And NEW names. Wow! A complete revision of the original package.

I think Bub is doing what all good brothers are born to do. Hum?

Enjoy creating the school. Ah yes! This will surely decrease the homesickness. No time will be left unoccupied. Just think how long it took Dad to "follow in the path" and look where he started this journey! Far from R.C. H.S.

Ye ole lesson plans. They will rule your life and that of your students daily this year. Will you have a supervisor of your teaching? That is a "fun" element of some teaching. (NOT)

Our love to all of you with hugs and kisses aplenty.

We think of you constantly.
